About Lowe’s
Founded back in 1921 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina by Lucius Smith Lowe and his son-in-law Carl Buchan, Lowe’s is now one of the main home improvement retail chains in North America. It sells items such as tools, hardware, building supplies, appliances, home décor & furniture, lawn & garden supplies, flooring, windows, lighting & ceiling fans, doors, kitchen cabinetry, and more.
As of 2019, there are a little less than 2,400 Lowe’s-owned stores across North America, primarily in the United States. Over 600 Lowe’s-owned stores also exist in Canada, albeit mostly under the name RONA. There used to be 13 Lowe’s locations in Mexico as well, but they have recently been closed as of April 2019.
