Dips: Kids love to play with their food. Dips offer
an excuse to do just that. Hummus, sour cream,
guacamole, and salsa make great choices for any
fresh veggie or chip.
• Crackers: A great filler and compliment to
any board.
• Nuts: A delicious addition that adds crunch,
but be mindful of allergies.
• Cheeses: Kids love cheddar and mozzarella,
but add some new flavors to open their minds.
• Finger foods: Think small! Pre-slice all cheese and
meat so it's an easy grab and go.
FOR THE ADULTS
Endless options to have fun,
feed your guests and try new
flavor combinations.
• Mix and match textures: Add dimension with hard and soft
cheeses, bread and crackers, dried fruits and nuts.
• Balance flavors. Opposites attract - combine salty with sweet
and spicy with mild.
• Quantities: A general rule to follow: offer 3-4 cheeses and
2-3 meats sized about 2-3 ounces each. Fill with fruits and
veggies, dips, nuts, etc. If this is your main course then double
that amount.
• Add color: Fruits and veggies bring beautiful color
and fresh flavors.
• Add-ins: Jams and fruit spreads add sweetness to cheese and
crackers. Pickles and olives add salty goodness that pair well
with meat and strong cheeses.
• Get creative: Add unlikely items like chocolate, marshmallows,
or unique fruits and nuts.
