CHOOSING THE PRESSURE WASHER
THAT MEETS YOUR NEEDS.
Engines
How much power do you need for the job? Most pressure washers are equipped with
engines that have the right amount of power based on what the unit is intended to
do. The engine selected will provide enough power to blast away the dirt, grime and
anything else it is designed to remove.
Gas vs Electric
How far do you need to go? Gas-powered pressure washers deliver unbeatable
cleaning performance, flexibility and durability, with the freedom to clean everywhere
without cords to hold it back.
LIGHT, MEDIUM,
OR HEAVY-DUTY
PSI and GPM
There are two different measurements for power in pressure washers. Both are
important for cleaning. The higher both numbers are, the better it is at cleaning and
blasting away dirt.
Choose a light-duty pressure washer to clean cars and trucks,
patio furniture, grills and sidewalks. Medium-duty pressure
washers do those things plus fencing, decks, patios, garage
floors, and driveways. While too strong to use on cars and
trucks, heavy duty-pressure washers work on everything else.
They also handle siding and second stories, and prepare
surfaces for painting.
PSI is a measure of pounds per square inch at the output or the force the pressure
washer creates.
GPM is the amount or flow of water being delivered to the sprayer. It is short for
gallons per minute and gives you the power to break down dirt and wash it away.
