Give Kids the World Village
I was so excited to see Give Kids the
World Village featured in the December
issue of the Costco Connection [“Hope
in illness”]. We were privileged to go to
GKTW Village in 2013 for my daughter’s
Wish Trip. It really is one of the most
amazing places I have ever visited. The
outpouring of love and generosity we
experienced, from the whimsical grounds
to the wonderfully equipped villa, with
countless volunteers and staff members
ready to help with any need, still brings
tears of gratitude. I hope to go back as
a volunteer when time and travel allow.
Klipsch audio
I read the article about Klipsch
eagerly [“Klipsch artistry,” December
2021]. His legacy is well known to those
of us who graduated from New Mexico
State University, particularly the engineers. He was a generous donor to the
school where he earned his bachelor’s
degree, and NMSU’s electrical engineering school bears his name.

The meaning of Christmas
Your “A festive season” article [Editor’s
note, December 2021], contained interesting information about Hanukkah and
Kwanzaa and the winter solstice. However, the reason behind the existence of
Christmas was sorely lacking in information or celebration.
This [holiday] is called Christmas
because it is named for Christ. Jesus was
born in Bethlehem (probably in the spring,
as you stated) and the world has never
been the same.
Perhaps you might reconsider for next
year and give homage to the founder of
the holiday we are celebrating. Or at the
very least equal treatment with the other
holidays you mentioned.

Editor: We received several similar comments and want to assure our readers
that it wasn’t our intent to emphasize one
December celebration over another.

Little Free Libraries
During the early days of COVID,
my fitness club closed down, so my
main exercise became an hourlong walk
through my neighborhood. I discovered
that there were four Little Free Libraries
[“Sharing good books,” November 2021]
on my walking route. I looked forward to
seeing what wonderful literary treasures
I’d discover. I also enjoyed “pollinating”
these libraries with books from other free
libraries or books that I was going to discard or donate. These libraries help me
maintain my physical and mental health
during those uncertain dark times.

Prayer power
Thank you for including the interview
with Sarah Young in the November 2021
edition [“The power of prayer”]. It was
uplifting and enjoyable to read, and
especially pertinent in these times.

ADVERTISING AND PRODUCTS
All products advertised are
available in our warehouses
unless otherwise noted. Ads
will indicate whether a product
is also available at Costco.com
or only at Costco.com.
Products are scheduled to be
available at the time of the
Connection’s date of publication.
If they are later than the publication month, they are noted
as “early month” (1st to 10th),
“mid-month” (11th to 21st) or
“late month” (22nd to 31st).
Costco.com carries many of
the products available at the
warehouses, and offers thousands of additional items. Prices
are usually not listed in the
magazine because they have
not been finalized at the time
of printing and may vary from
one part of the country to
another due to shipping costs.
We hope members know to
check Costco first when comparison shopping. To keep prices
low, Costco does not offer a
telephone service allowing
members to call in for prices
or product availability.

Correction
In an ad on page 96 of the December
Costco Connection, the image of Mucinex
DM 56ct (Item 1562581) incorrectly shows
1200 mg guaifenesin and 60 mg pseudoephedrine HBI. The correct ingredients
are 1200 mg guaifenesin and 60 mg
dextromethorphan HBr.
