LA DOMITIENNE
GRENACHE GRIS
R E GU L A R $13.99
GA Z E T T E S PE C I AL $9.99
Grenache is a well-rounded and versatile grape, and is
quite enjoyable in each and every one of its iterations.
It thrives in warmer climates, like Australia, South of
France, Spain, USA among many, and has a number of
variants. There is the usual red variety, a white variety,
and a gray variety (hence the Gris) plus a handful of other
more interesting and descriptive (a la Peluda or “hairy”
grenache.) Grenache Gris, is a pinkish grape, a slight tint of
orange, and some actual gray highlights. The grape is ideal
for making refreshing, lightly tinted, bright acidity gems
that are packed with fruit but not overtly sharp. Lively in
body, it boasts a mélange of red and orchard fruits, with a
zesty citric backdrop.

KURANUI ESTATE
SAUVIGNON BLANC
R E GU L A R $13.99
GA Z E T T E S PE C I AL $9.99
New Zealand has made an indelible mark on the wine
world with its very stylistic and zippy Sauvignon Blanc.
They can be a bit polarizing due to their distinct,
gooseberry, fresh cut lawn and other somewhat creative
descriptors that I shall purposely omit, but they are love
hate, and most of them can fall into the love column.
Kuranui Estate, from Marlborough, is classic NZ in style,
with effusive green apple, grapefruit, kiwi, and gooseberry,
with expressive fresh green herbal component that
validates its origins.
LIVELY, BRISK, CLEANSING, IT IS A ZESTY BRACING
WHITE THAT WORKS WELL WITH HERBED SAUCES,
CEVICHE, SEAFOOD SMOTHERED IN CAPERS OR OUR
ASADA CHICKEN BREAST.

PEJU NAPA VALLEY
SAUVIGNON BLANC
R E GU L A R $28.99
GA Z E T T E S PE C I AL $25.99
My wife and I dearly love Sauvignon Blanc and this
Peju is one of the best we have enjoyed this year. To
add complexity and depth to their Sauvignon Blanc
their vineyard team harvests in three stages of flavor
development, picking the fruit at varied levels of
ripeness. After pressing, the juice is cold fermented in
stainless steel tanks to retain bright acidity and preserve
fresh aromatics. This vibrant white features aromas
of gooseberry, Asian pear and lemongrass. The palate
is bright with flavors of lychee, elder flower, quince
and undertones of candied limes. Well balanced with
refreshing, mouth cleansing acidity, this Sauvignon Blanc
concludes with a fresh, clean finish.

92 Points James Sucking 2017
Duckhorn started in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn
in Napa Valley and have been creating phenomenal wine
for forty years. Duckhorn Merlot also includes Cabernet
Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec in
its final blend. It is barrel aged in one hundred percent
French oak giving the wine full body that allows the black
berries and plums to give a great tannic level that does
not overpower the vanilla chocolate blend. The finish
wonderful roasted note that compliments the forwardness
of the fruit. Duckhorn Merlot is a great way to start off the
year.
PAIRS WELL WITH MEDIUM COOKED LAMB TOPPED
WITH DARK CHOCOLATE PEPPER SAUCE.
